- Description
- The Seattle District Corps of Engineers intends to negotiate a sole source contract with URS Group for Geotechnical and Geophysical Services for Independent Technical Review, Seismic Design Evaluation at Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site, Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP), Hanford, Washington. (See Note 22.) Contractor shall provide geotechnical and geophysical services relating to independent technical review of the development and implementation of seismic design criteria and proposed activities to gather additional geophysical data to confirm the seismi c design criteria. The work to be conducted includes, 1) review reports which serve as the basis for the current (revised) seismic design criteria, and prepare an independent technical report of findings and recommendations; 2) perform a review of the pro posed plan to drill additional boreholes and collect additional seismic information. Make recommendations for any suggested modifications; 3) during any additional field activities, assist the Corps of Engineers in working with drilling contractors to ref ine field activities, if necessary; and 4) evaluate any new seismic data, and analyze the data and propose modifications to the seismic design criteria, if indicated.
