Description

Design services are required to furnish a complete set of working drawings and specifications for Project 534-317, Renovate Existing Operating Room Suite and Adjacent Spaces at the VA Medical Center, Charleston, SC. The proposed construction will update, enlarge, and refurbish the existing five-room operating suite totaling approximately 15,000 sq ft. Construction will require HVAC, electrical and mechanical modifications. Selection will be based on the recent specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to project, past performance on Government contracts and other appropriate evaluation criteria. The A/E firm selected will required to retain a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide expertise in all aspects of assessing, abating, monitoring and making recommendations concerning asbestos within the project scope of work both during design and construction period services. Estimated construction is between $2,000,000.00 - $5,000,000.00.Consideration is limited to concerns located within a 150 mile radius of VAMC Charleston, SC and is 100% set-aside for small business. NAICS code for this procurement is 5413310. This notice is issued subject to the availability of funds and is not a request for proposal. Interested firms who posses experience in this type of design and renovation may submit SF330 (3 copies) to David Kekel, Contracting Officer, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401 not later than 3:00 p.m. November 16, 2005.
