- Design services to furnish complete construction documents (Plans & Specifications) and construction period services for Project 531-308 ?Construction of Specialty Care Tower? at the VA Medical Center 500 West Fort Street, Boise Idaho. The project will construct a four story addition to Building 85 along the west side of the building. Each floor is anticipated to be approximately 3,500 square feet. The basement would be used for mechanical space with a possible expansion of the radiology. The first floor would house expanded clinics or Rehabilitation Medicine. The second floor will house expanded Laboratory functions. The Third floor will house surgery suites. Adjacent spaces on each floor will be remodeled to accommodate the new addition connection. Numerous underground utilities will be impacted by the new addition. The design will include rerouting or accommodating these utilities. The services of a design team including, architects, landscape architects, interior decorator, civil engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers and electrical engineers will be required. Industrial Hygiene design services are also required to deal with asbestos. Selection will be based on the following criteria listed in order of importance (1) Previous experience of the team proposed designing for health care facilities, (2) Professional qualification of key personnel to be assigned to this project, (3) Ability to manage design team to assure that entire team has the most current information about the project and everyone is staying coordinated, (4) Capacity of proposed team to perform the contract requirements within the designated time frame, and (5) Proximity of team offices to the VA Medical Center, Boise Idaho. Estimated Construction cost is between $1 and $5 million. This is not a small business set aside and requires the Contractor be located within a 75 mile radius of the Medical Center. Firms which meet the requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit, four (4) copies of appropriate data on SF330 to Pamela J. Pope, Contracting Office, (90C), VA Medical Center, 500 West Fort St., Boise, Idaho 83702 by 4:00 PM (MST) on Monday November 14th, 2005. Faxed copies are not acceptable. Award is subject to availability of funds.
