- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6. The National Park Service, Olympic National Park intends to award a firm-fixed price Purchase Order for boarding 16 mules during winter months for one base year, and subject to the availability of funds, four option years, to a single contractor whose quote conforms to the requirements stated in this Solicitation. SPECIFICATIONS: Olympic National Park is seeking a five year contract for boarding 16 mules each winter from November 1st to March 31st. Contractor shall provide the following: (1) at least 30 acres of dry pasture, and shelter from the weather. Shelter shall consists of a combination of heavy tree cover and barn, or other structure adequate to provide covered protection; (2) constant source of water; (3) adequate supply of stored hay to supplement pasture in case of snowy conditions; (4) make daily welfare checks for each mule and immediately notify the COR in the event of injuries, accidents, or health issues; and (5) adequate fencing with secure gates and shall take all reasonable measures to prevent access to stock by third parties. The Government retains the right to inspect contractor's facility in order to determine if acreage, shelter, and fencing are adequate to meet the government's needs prior to issuance of award. Applicable NAICS code is 115210 with a Size Standard of $6.0 Million. Prospective contractors must be registered in the CCR (Central Contractor Registration) database prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make a quote ineligible for award. Information on CCR Registration can be obtained via the internet at http://www.ccr.gov.
