- The U. S. Department of the Interior, GovWorks/National Business Center, on behalf of the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD., intends to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to Chiron Corporation of Emeryville, CA. Specifically, The National Naval Medical Center has the need for Chiron Procleix System and Tecan Pipetting Instrument to perform HIV-1, HCV, and WNV Nucleic Acid Testing. Equipment and Reagents for HIV-1 and HCV must be licensed by FDA, WNV is currently under DoD Research Protocol. This announcement is published as a Sole Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received by 4:30 p.m. EST October 27, 2005 will be considered by the Government. The anticipated award date is October 28, 2005.
