- Scope of Requirement: The Minerals Management Service (MMS) requires guest rooms, meeting rooms, food and beverage, audio/visual equipment and related services of a qualified hotel in Houston, TX for a one day conference "2006 Industry Awards Program". The conference will be held for one full day on one of the following days: April 25, April 26, or April 27. The estimated maximum number of guest rooms for one night is 50. Number of attendees of the conference is estimated between 600 and 700. Meeting space requirements include one theater style seating for 500 and one theater style room for 100. Proposed food functions include, but are not limited to, one lunch for approximately 600 attendees and two continental breakfasts. Mandatory requirements: The hotel must 1) be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990, 15 U.S.C. 2201 et seq., (Public Law 101-391) and hold a FEMA certification number; 2) be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et seq. (ADA); and 3) have one of the following ratings: First class or higher per the Official Hotel Guide; three diamonds or higher per AAA; three crowns or higher per the OAG Business Travel Planner. How to acquire a copy of the solicitation: Please contact the Contracting Officer, Kimberly Luke via email Kimberly.Luke@mms.gov. The RFQ will be issued on October 15, 2005. This is NOT a small business set-aside. It is a full and open competition using simplified acquisition procedures. All responsible hotels may submit a quote that will be considered by the MMS. MMS anticipates awarding the contract in November 2005.
