- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for Class III Cultural Resource Inventory services in the BLM District Offices of Boise, Twin Falls, and Idaho Falls. BLM is required, under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, to take into account the effects of its actions on significant archaeological properties through a process of identification, evaluation, assessment of effects, and, if needed, mitigation. Prior to any ground-disturbing activity, the BLM normally conducts a Class III (intensive) cultural resource inventory for the purpose of identifying and evaluating cultural resource sites which may be affected by the proposed action. BLM cultural resource specialists can then use these evaluations, in combination with information gained through consultation with affected Tribes and the Idaho State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), to determine whether mitigation treatments are required for any site. This requirement is unrestricted under NAICS 541690, and solicited per FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Supplies/Services. BLM intends to evaluate technical, past performance, and price prior to making multiple award, firm fixed-price, Indefinite Delivery -Indefinite Quantity contracts. Future delivery orders issued against these contracts will be awarded on a best value basis. The solicitation will be available on or about October 6, 2005. Proposals will be due approximately three weeks from the date the solicitation is released. Potential offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided.
