- The 96th Contracting Squadron (96 CONS/MSCB), Eglin AFB, intends to solicit and award a contract for a requirement to provide radiology interpretation services for the 96th Medical Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base Hospital, Eglin AFB, FL. Scope of Work (SOW): The contractor shall provide personnel, services and equipment necessary to provide professional interpretations of diagnostic imaging studies required for Government beneficiaries at the Eglin Air Force Base Hospital. Services shall include but not limited to professional interpretation, consultation, and direction involving digital medical imaging procedures in general radiology, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computer assisted Tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine for the beneficiaries (inpatients, outpatients, employees, and other recipients of care) at the Eglin Air Force Base Hospital. The period of performance will be for five years (basic year plus four option years). The solicitation number for this announcement is FA2823-05-R-0030. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this sale is 621512. The size standard for the NAICS code is $11.5 million. In accordance with the requirements and procedures of the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986 ? Title IV (Public Law 99-660) which established the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB), the contractor shall ensure all individuals who hold clinical privileges are properly screened by the NPDB. Physicians assigned by the contractor to provide the official interpretation of images transmitted by teleradiology shall maintain licensure appropriate to delivery of radiologic service at both the transmitting and receiving sites ? Contractor?s responsibility. In order to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, all contractor personnel are required to stay current with all HIPAA directives and training. The contractor must be certified from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO). The contractor shall have at a level commensurate with standards of the medical profession and the American College of Radiology (ACR). 24-hour daily operations to include weekends and holidays in support of clinics, emergency department and inpatient services. Contractor will be required to provide evidence of professional training and experience, board certification status, and current unrestricted state licensure. Current copies of licensure renewals, board certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) renewals, and documentation of continuing health education (CME). Contractor must maintain Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) numbers. The contractor shall provide and maintain adequate liability coverage consistent with the risks associated with the performance of all services ($1M to $3M).
