Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for a Scientific Plant Tissue Culture Chamber with Intellus Control System (or equivalent) for temperature and photoperiod. Must have separate control system for each of two independent compartments within a single footprint; single board solid state design; 10-key membrane keypad with LED display; real-time programming, with at least up to 96 steps, non-ramping; minimum 18-gauge electro-zinc plated steel exterior and 22-gauge steel interior, all seams and joints welded; painted with highly reflective baked enamel; temperature range at least 10 ? 44 degrees C lights on and 2 ? 44 degrees C lights off; twin air-cooled condensing units; conditioned air circulation through rear wall duct to an air diffuser at the bottom of each shelf, air vertically circulated upward at a slow speed to minimize condensation on Petri dish lids; minimum 29.4 cubic feet capacity (approx 15.7 cu feet per compartment); four 17W high output fluorescent lamps over each tier; light intensity up to 150 micromoles/m2/s; four shelves (two per compartment) with at least total work area of 22 sq feet, minimum growing height of 6.25-in per tier; at least two 1.25-in access ports (one per compartment); caster assembly with levelers; standard electrical chamber of 115/1/60; maximum (exterior) footprint of 33.5-in W x 36.6-in D x 78-in H. The Government intends to negotiate with the only known responsible source, Percival Scientific, Inc (Model #CU-22L), to accommodate space requirements and research needs.
