Description: (1) TERMSUS – Terms and Warranty (No Charge) Brand Name Justification Information: SUBJECT: Brand Name Justification – PR# F1S0AF5231B002 1. Request Brand Name purchase of Tinius-Olsen LoCap Model 30 Tensile Testing Machine for use in support of the Air Force Flight Test Center. 2. The Tinius-Olsen LoCap 30 is a tensile testing machine that will be used for stress load testing of materials used in aircraft test modifications, safety loads testing of aircraft, engine, munitions, and egress handling devices, and calibration and verification of instrumentation system transducers. It will be used for 100% of all safety loads testing work accomplished for the 412th Maintenance Group. This machine will be used by the 412 TW/ENI materials testing lab technicians. The Tinius-Olsen LoCap 30 tensile testing machine is the only known brand that can satisfy the Government’s requirement. The 1,000 lb and 450,000 lb tensile testing machines currently in use in the materials testing lab are this brand of tensile tester. The machine controller software used by this machine is proprietary to the manufacturer and specifically unique to fit, form, and function. The ancillary equipment provided with this machine is also proprietary and is interchangeable with the other two machines currently in use. It is imperative to maintain conformity with same type machines for maintenance, interchangeability of controller software, ancillary parts, and training. Place of delivery, performance, and acceptance is FOB Destination, Edwards AFB, CA 93524.
