- Market Survey: N1023-05-0005 From: COMSC N1023 Subject: AOE 6 Class Reduction Gear Replacement THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND YOUR RESPONSE IS NOT AN OFFER. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY ANY COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION OF ANY SUBMISSION TO THIS MARKET SURVEY, OR TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES. Introduction: The purpose of this preliminary survey is to describe Military Sealift Command?s (MSC) AOE 6 Class reduction gear replacement program requirements and determine industry interest and receive comment from the gear community that will enhance the final technical requirements. MSC wants to purchase four shipsets of gear components, plus spares, in the 2006-2007 timeframe. The gears would then be stored at a warehouse facility for 2 to 3 years, at which time we would require installation oversight from the gear manufacturer for each of the four ship installations. MSC would also require a minimum one-year warrantee period on all manufactured parts from the time of successful sea trial. This survey in no way commits the government to the purchase of any products or services from responding vendors.
