Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport RI intends to award a contract with firm fixed price provisions under FAR parts 12 and 13 procedures (commercial items; simplified acquisition procedures), to modify/refurbish two TOMAHAWK CLS MK45 Mod 0 steel Capsules. Effort includes adding a 25.5 cubic foot pressure vessel and a ballast rail system, per Government drawings. However, the drawings will not be exhibited on our web site due to restricted distribution statements. To receive a copy of the drawings a company must be certified under the Joint Certification Program (JCP) managed for Defense Logistics Information Service, Battle Creek, MI, as evidenced by a JCP Certification number in the Business Identification Number Cross-reference System (BINCS). Send an e-mail request for the drawings to Nancy Teasdale at teasdalena@npt.nuwc.navy.mil. There is a limited number of drawing packages- will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Your request must include your firm?s complete street address, cage code, tel. number. The solicitation is expected to be issued in less than 15 days per FAR 5.203(a) & (h). First article testing, at contractor site, starting 90 days after order placement, is required for one unit. Delivery point: NUWC Division Newport, RI. Delivery of second unit required by 30 APR 2006. GFP includes the capsules. Contractor is responsible to repair/repaint all painted surfaced damaged during the welding/manufacturing process. Procurement is a 100% set-aside for small businesses. Anticipated RFQ release date is: 22 SEP 2005. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable.
