Description

The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Parlier, Ca. has a requirment for a segmented flow analyzer. the instrument should be capable of measuring ions in an aqueous solution by the addition of reagents to a segmented flow from an autosampler. The chemical reaction produces a compound that absorbs light in the visible portion of the spectra, which is measured by the spectrometer. Segmented flow is required to prevent cross contamination of samples. Diffrent ions can be determined by changing analytical cartridges that are compatible with both the Alpkem flow analyzer RFA 300 and the Astoria Pacific 2 segmented flow analyzer The Astoria Pacific 2 segmented flow analyzer must also acquire and process analog data from an Alpkem rapid flow analyzer RFA 300 specrometer. A RFQ is not available for this requirment. The USDA intends on negotiating with the only known source, Astoria Pacific.
