- The 412th Test Wing Engineering, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is seeking potential sources capable of providing Heim Cartridge with 256 CB Hard Drive and Heim Tough Book 29 Laptop Computer. Manufacture of the items is HEIM DATA SYSTEMS, INC. Specific requirements are as follows: 1)HS100-2197/1 CJ300 D200F SERIES SEALED CARTRIDGE WITH 256 GB HARD DRIVE (Quantity 2) 2)Heim Tough Book 29 Laptop Computer (Quantity 1) 3)Support ? 1 Year extended warranty on Heim equipment These items are part of high speed data acquisition systems specifically designed for flight test uses. The recorders are used for airborne and ground flight test instrumentation. These recorders will be used specifically for the C-130 Amp, C-17, B-1, B-2, B-52 and the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programs. These systems must be Chapter 10, IRIG 106 recording standard compliant and must be compatible with the Heim recorders that are currently installed on various aircraft. In order to maintain standardization, these recorders must be compatible in form, fit, and function. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide Heim Cartridge with 256 CB Hard Drive and Heim Tough Book 29 Laptop Computer. Firms responding to this synopsis must identify their company?s capabilities to perform the requirements described herein, reference the synopsis number and indicate whether or not that they are a small or small disadvantaged business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1. The NAICS code is 334515. The information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this sources sought synopsis, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded in September 2005.
