- Dockside Repairs to the NOAA Ship RAINIER. Vessel characteristics : Length: 231 ft (70.4 m) Draft: 14.3 ft (4.2m), Hull - welded steel / ice strengthened, Displacement: 1800 tons, Gross tonnage: 1591, Net tonnage: 578. Additional characteristics can be found at http:// www.moc.noaa.gov/ra/ Work will include, but not be limited to: Davit repairs and load test, vent cleaning, topside deck and superstructure preservation, crane load test, ventilation modifications, gangway handling system improvements, piping repairs, galley equipment replace, fan room valve repairs. A pre-bid inspection is scheduled for 14 Nov 2005. Time shall be listed in solicitation. Anticipated period of performance December 15, 2005 ? February 14, 2006. Work to be done dockside at the NOAA Marine Operations Center - Pacific, at 1801 Fairview Ave. E., Seattle, WA. This is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Size limit for small businesses is 1,000 employees. The RAINIER is one of the Seattle based ships and comes docks in Seattle for winter inports which last about four months.
