- NASA/GRC has a requirement for continued ANNUAL MAINTENANCE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR VARIOUS MATLAB LICENSES FOR A ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from THE MATHWORKS, 3 APPLE HILL DRIVE, NATICK, MA 01760-0209. The MATLAB licenses currently being used at our center were originally purchased from THE MATHWORKS who owns the source code. Also, the software is proprietary and unique to THE MATHWORKS. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-1(b)1. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 4:30 p.m. local time on September 19, 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT - IT IS A SOLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
