- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; propo sals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is W911QX 05-R-0029. This acquisition is issued as an Request for Quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in eff ect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-04. This acquisition is set-aside for Small Business. The associated NAICS code is 334112. The small business size standard is 500. The following is a list of contract line item number(s) and items, quantit ies and units of measure, (including option(s), if applicable): CLIN 0001 DeskSide-96 Cluster Workstation, consisting of 96 nodes and approximately 3.8 TB Storage; 96 x 86 processors at 1.2 GHz; 1 GB memory per node, 96 GB total; 1 80 GB head node drive; 95 40GB drives. One per each client node, approximtely 3.8 TB total storage; and integrated software, QTY 1 each. CLIN 0002 Multi-port GigE Switch, Company shall perform onsite total system installation at no additional charge, QTY 1 each Description of requirements: This system must require NO special power or cooling system for the Linux cluster. The unit must plug into a standard wall outlet and cooled with internal fans. Delivery is required by 28 October 2005. Delivery shall be made to US Army Research Laboratory, ARL Receiving Section, Bldg 434, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Acceptance shall be performed at ARL Bldg 434, APG, MD 21005. The FOB point is Destination. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, appl ies to this acquisition. The following addenda have been attached to this provision: None. The provision at FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items is applicable to this acquisition. The specific evaluation criteria to be included in paragraph (a) o f that provision are as follows: A. Technical Capability. Proposal will be evaluated to ensure it meets the requirements as stated in this combined synopsis/solicitation. B. Price. Technical Capability is significally more important than price. Offe rors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items, and DFARS 252.212-7000, Offeror Representations and Certifications -Commercial Items, with its offer. These clauses can be obtained at http://www.arnet.gov. The clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The following addenda have been attached to this clause None.
