- SANITIZATION OF CLASSIFIED HARD DRIVES AT WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB The solicitation number is 05-T-0237. This is a Sole Source procurement, synopsis published for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. The proposed contract is for a degausser which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501 and 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The proposed source is Data Security, Inc. The description is as follows: A hard drive degausser (HD-1T) sanitizes classified hard drives and will efficiently improve the manual process of sanitization and disposal. The government anticipates a sole source award to Data Security, Inc. because this degausser is currently the only unit that has been tested and certified by the National Security Agency in accordance with the Degausser Products List. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the government will consider all quotations/responses received within eight (8) days of the issuance of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
