Description
In accordance with FAR 5.203, this announcement is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subparts 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation 528-29-05A is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05. Due to the urgent need of this procurement, the requirement is being solicited as a sole source acquisition. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 33411 (electronic computer manufacturing). The Small Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The VA Western New York Healthcare System has an urgent requirement for the following: KayPENTAX Swallowing Workstation Model 7200 The Swallowing Signals Lab incorporates the following features in a one unit: 1) Two Channel Surface EMG. 2) One Channel for monitoring respiratory phase (using nasal cannula as input). 3) One stethoscopic microphone input for acoustic analysis of swallowing or cervical auscultation. 4) Two auxiliary input channels (sampling rate up to 6 kHz per channel). 5) One Channel for Tongue array module with bulbs. Each array consists of air-filled transducers that are placed intra-orally for measurements of tongue strength and symmetry. The Digital Video Computer has the following features: 1) High-resolution (24-bit) broadcast-quality video digitizer. 2) Captures 30 frames per second. 3) Can load two video exams at once to facilitate comparison. Allows concurrent acquisition and display of physiologic data acquired through Swallowing Signals Lab on the same screen as video recording.
