- NAICS Code: 334516 The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), with GE Health Care/Amersham Biosciences, to purchase a Typhoon Scanner 9410. The current NAICS code is 334516. Based on EPA's knowledge of the visualization system, there are features covered in the specifications that may have unique capabilities to particular vendors. These features include: - Typhoon 9410 Scanner - 7 Standard emission filters (526SP, 520BP40, 555DF20, 560LP, 580DF30, 610DF30, 670DF30) - Microarray slide holder - ImageQuant TL software (single-user license) - Workstation with Windows XP operating system - User's Guide - Fluorescence Imaging Technical Manual Also included in the analytical package is the DeCyder 2D version 6.0, which is dedicated software for the analysis of ETTAN 2D DIGE protein expression experiments However, any firm believing it self capable of meeting the EPA's requirement may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with the specifications. Such documentation must be submitted to the point of contact within 15 days of the posting of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered only for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis.
