Description
FASS II RFI Questions for E-3 Seats 1 Sept 05 Purpose: Purpose of the Fixed Aircrew Seat Standardization II (FASS II) program is to build a standardized seat that will accommodate a 5th through 95th percentile male aircrew member, provide 16G crashworthiness, and integrate the seat into aircrew positions on the E-3 aircraft that includes Type II seats for Mission Crew members. This requirement does not include Pilot and Co-pilot seats for the E-3 aircraft. The Government plans to award no more than two production contracts. Key Performance Parameters and Operational Requirements: A. KPP: Weight of Seat: Threshold 56 pounds and Objective 53 pounds. B. KPP: Withstand Static and Dynamic Loads: 16G crashworthiness. C. KPP: Physical Accommodation: 5th through 95th percentile male aircrew member. D. KPP: Integration of seats without modification to the aircraft. E. Common Components Performance Specification for FASS II: The attached draft Performance Specification dated 10 May 2004, establishes the performance and test requirements for the Fixed Aircrew Seat Standardization (FASS II) program. 1. How many months after award of a production contract would the First Article Test (FAT) E-3 seats be ready for demonstration to the Government?
