Description
This synopsis is neither a solicitation nor award. It is a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources in order to establish interest in a potential Long Term Contract for the maintenance of depot battery inventory. Services to be performed will include recharge and conditioning of batteries; receive, test, analyze, and track data on batteries; top-off, refresh charge, and recondition batteries as required; optimize battery storage, charging, and top-off procedures to minimize battery losses and maximize recovery of any batteries that exceed shelf-life or demonstrate low performance; provide diagnostic equipment and trained personnel to perform testing and analysis of the batteries? state of charge and state of health; provide written procedures on recharging/reconditioning; contractor must be competent to perform this type of work in accordance with established federal, state, and local laws concerning OSHA, hazardous material handling, and battery maintenance and handling. A draft Statement of Work is available for interested vendors? use in submitting comments. Comments on the feasibility of the undertaking and suitability of the Statement of Work are welcome. Please provide your comments no later than close of business September 21, 2005. Information received may be used to revise the Statement of Work and/or for planning for an upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP) that will be synopsized in FEDBIZOPPS. The Government reserves the right to make the upcoming RFP a Small Business Set Aside. A Conference will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Defense Supply Center Richmond, 8000 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Richmond, VA 23297 to discuss the RFI, provide additional information, and to answer questions.
