Description
SPECIAL NOTICE TO INDUSTRY-RELEASE OF DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (DRFP) for the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) Increment II program. The Air Armament Center, Special Projects Group (AAC/SPG), located at Eglin AFB, FL anticipates release of a DRFP on or around the first week of Sep 05. The purpose of this special notice is to inform potential offerors that we will reengage in early industry involvement by hosting an industry day thereafter to review the DRFP and industry comments. The selected acquisition strategy, pending formal approval, is to purchase SDB Increment II as an All Up Round (AUR) weapon system. The Government anticipates awarding up to two contracts for the competitive Risk Reduction Phase, with a down select to one contractor for the System Development and Demonstration Phase. ATTENTION POTENTIAL OFFERORS! The Government intends to have extensive exchanges of information with industry before the receipt of proposals so as to foster the purposes of FAR 15.201(a) – (d) while complying with the limitations of subparagraph (f). To facilitate this process an Industry Day, to review and discuss comments to the first issuance of the DRFP, will be scheduled with subsequent opportunities with potential offerors to dry run oral proposals. Interested sources having applicable capability and background as a prime AUR weapon system contractor should contact M. Christine Altman, (850) 882-7321 ext 2769 ‘chris.altman@eglin.af.mil’ to receive technical information relevant to this effort. Only those firms who intend to submit prime contractor proposals for an AUR SDB II system and are on the Certified Contractor Access List may receive relevant technical information and participate in the Industry Day DRFP exchange of information. If a prime contractor desires to bring potential subcontractor/team members they must contact the contracting officer to ensure adequate space is available. This announcement is for information purposes only. It does not constitute an RFP and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. To participate in the Industry Day exchange of information contact Capt Sean McBride ‘michael.mcbride@eglin.af.mil’, Lt Lyle Peters ‘lyle.peters@eglin.af.mil’ or Jon Costello ‘jon.costello@eglin.af.mil’at (850) 882-7321 exts 3253/2218/3099 for further information. You are reminded to monitor the fedbizops web site for release of follow-on information relative to release of the draft RFP.
