Description
This acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set Aside for a Firm Fixed Price resultant contract. The government has a requirement for the complete redesign and construction of the C-5 aircraft Empennage Tail Stand maintenance/inspection stand(s). The C-5 Empennage Tail Stand (EMP) allows maintenance personnel full access to the tail of the C-5 Aircraft. The Tail of the C-5 Aircraft requires a stand approximately 70 feet tall and 77 feet wide at the Horizontal Stabilizer. The Tail Stand shall incorporate elevator and crane capability, and it shall be mobile and drivable under its own power from a diesel engine. If options are exercised, erection of the C-5 EMP stand at multiple geographic locations simultaneously may be required. All design, fabrication and erection of the C-5 Empennage Tail Stand shall be done in accordance with the Purchase Description attached to the RFP. NSN and Part Number will be included in the final RFP. FAR Pt 12 procedures apply. QUANTITY: The government is desiring to purchase one (1 ea) EMP Stand Design (drawings, schematics, specifications etc….) as prescribed in Purchase Description. DELIVERY: See RFP The government also desires to purchase one (1 ea) each EMP Stand (first production unit). DELIVERY: See RFP. OPTIONS: The government desires to have two production option periods. The first option will include quantities for 1-4 each of the EMP Stands. This option may be exercised anytime from contract award to approximately 1,095 days post award. The second option will include quantities for 1-3 each of the ISO Stands. This option may be exercised anytime from contract award to approximately 1,460 days post award. DELIVERY NOTE: If Options I and Option II are both exercised, deliveries/assembly could overlap! Synopsis Notes: 1, 8, 9, and 25 apply.
