- BASE LAUNDRY AND DRY-CLEANING FA8601-05-R-0042 SOLICITATION ISSUANCE Solicitation FA8601-05-R-0042 for base-wide laundry and dry-cleaning services at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, is hereby issued. Solicitation documents and attachments can be downloaded at www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil. The Service Contract Act of 1965 applies to this acquisition, and an appropriate wage determination for the successful offeror+s location will be in incorporated into the resultant contract. Please note: Wage rates for any positions not covered in the CBA can be viewed at the following website: http://www.wdol.gov/sca.aspx#0 Closing date is no later that 4:00 P.M. EST, Sep 30, 2005. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: CURRENT NEGOTIATION OF CBA WAGE RATES: Incumbent contractor is currently negotiating new wage rates and benefits on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Provided the contractor meets the timeliness guidelines in the Federal Acquisition Regulation for submission of a new CBA, these new rates and benefits will impact price proposals accordingly. A solicitation amendment will be issued upon receipt of updated wage rates. ****************************************************************************** The 88th Operational Contracting Squadron is contemplating a 5-year contract to provide Base-Wide Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT and not a notice of RFP issuance. This effort is considered commercial in nature and any resultant contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR Part 12. All interested firms should respond with their company name, address, and point of contact phone number. Responding parties must also indicate their business size status in relation to the applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 812320/Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code 7218. A small business in this SIC cannot exceed $4 million average gross revenue over the last 3 fiscal years. Sources should identify and address if they are a large, small, 8(a), woman owned, Hubzone, or otherwise classified as a small disadvantaged business in their responses. This acquisition is for an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with one base year and four one-year option periods. Expected period of performance will begin 1 October 2005. The contractor will be required to make daily pickups of bulk laundry, piece laundry and dry cleaning. Bulk laundry shall be returned within 48 hours, piece laundry within 48 hours and dry cleaning within 24 hours. Estimated laundry count over the 5 year period of the contract is: Bulk Laundry: 4,065,900 lbs, Piece Laundry: 43,925 pcs and Dry Cleaning: 38,500 pcs. Minor repair of items to include minor rips, tears, open seams and holes will be accomplished at no cost to the government. Reimbursable repairs will be identified by the Government at the time of pickup and will be charged at pre-set bid prices. Soiled and clean linens will be transported in accordance with all local health regulations and/or state laws or regulations. Contaminated linens will be placed in water-soluble bags (provided by the Government) and will be processed without individual handling by the contractor. This sources sought synopsis is issued to determine if there are contractors capable of and interested in supplying the required services, and to assist the Air Force in making a set-aside decision. All sources capable of providing the required services are being sought. RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ARE DUE NO LATER THAN 1700 EST, 22 JUN 05.
