Description

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to CAMAG SCIENTIFIC INC, 515 Cornelius Harnett Dr., Wilmington, NC. Camag Scientific Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the Camag Basic Kit for Bioluminescence consisting of: BioLuminizer, Linomat 5, Twin Trough Chamber, 20x10cm, with stainless steel lid, Chromatogram Immersion Device and a Tank for Immersion Device, 20x10cm. The instrumentation is being purchased to allow us to evaluate and utilize Bioluminex Kits developed under an FDA cooperative agreement by Chromadex Analytics. The Bioluminex Kits were developed to allow rapid screening of foods for possible toxic compounds. The is unique to CAMAG, with no other manufacturers offering comparable instrumentation within the US. The Bioluminizer was designed by CAMAG in collaboration with Bayer, specifically for use with the Bioluminex Kits marketed by Chromadex. An award will be made in seven (7) days from the date of this notice. This is not a request for quotes; however, sources may submit descriptive literature, which fully demonstrate their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses or questions regarding this posting must be in writing and can be sent via email to Apagan@oc.fda.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition for commercial items in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.
