- This is a combined/solicitation notice of intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI-5116. This solicitation is being issued as a notice of intent and this is not a Small Business Set-Aside. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and on a sole-source basis. This solicitation document and its incorporated provisions are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 2005-05). The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), intends to procure Characterized Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS), from VWR International, Lot # AQB23034 in a quantity of 500. This is in support of Project#: Z01-AI-005009, Title: ?Monitoring Immune Responses in Clinical Trails of Vaccine Products? Our Researchers have conducted and completed extensive testing and optimization of reagents to determine that this biological reagent is compatible with lot#1126423 that has been in use for all Immunology lab experiments since January, 2002. This is a firm fixed-price contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NIACS) Code for this acquisition is 325414 and the small-business size standard is 500 employees. Period of Performance will be from: 9/26/05-11/02/05.
