- Description
- The Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.501)a)(1) to Hi-Techniques, Inc., 2515 Frazier Avenue, Madison, WI 53713; 608-221-7500. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and not other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geotechnical and Structur es Laboratory (GSL) require data acquisition for mobilizing large amounts of complimentary hardware, which prevents their rapid deployment. A portable system which does not require such complimentary hardware will significantly reduce the cost of fielding experiments and will reduce the response time required for fielding. Additionally, the nonworking WINDAS 600 system is allowed as a trade-in value by the manufacturer (a value not possible with any other vendor), which further enhances the opportunity to acquire the new 32 channel system. Delivery is not later than 16 September 2005. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualif ications to provide this supply or service in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 1600 hrs CST on 01 September 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct t his procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFQ will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
