- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Center for Neutron Research (NCNR), has a requirement to translate full 3-dimensional, NIST provided, specifications, which shall be provided in the form of International Graphics Exchange Standards (IGES) files into solid castings composed of a mixture of polyurethane and boron carbide powder. Twenty sets of four (4) identical parts combine to make a portion of the single shielding system. The channel separator, the smallest of the four pieces, uses enriched 10-B Boron Carbide in the 120-mesh size. The period of performance shall be 14 weeks from the date of award. FOB shall be DESTINATION, Gaithersburg, MD. This requirement is being procured using full & open competition. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, RFQ amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at HTTP://WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under RFQ number SB1341-05-Q-0988. The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about August 30, 2005, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
