Description
The USDA, Animal Plant Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Pink Bollworm Rearing Facility (PBWRF), Phoenix, AZ, intends to procure a Burnham, cast iron gas fired low pressure steam boiler. Submit faxed quotations to Purchasing Section, at (612) 370 2136, Attention Joanne Mann. QUOTATIONS ARE DUE SEPTEMBER 16, 2005 BY 10:00 a.m. local time. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. Small business set aside. A firm fixed price purchase order will be awarded. NAICS Code: 238220, Business Size: $12 million. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. SPECIFICATIONS: The requirement consists of: 1. Remove and discard one 456,000 BTUH Burnham cast iron gas fired low pressure steam boiler. 2. Provide one new Burnham 20.4 HP, low pressure steam (15 psig), firetube, forced draft natural gas fired boiler, Model 4FL-92-45-G-GP or approved equal. Install boiler in accordance with boiler manufacturer?s written instructions. 3. Boiler pressure vessel shall be constructed, tested, and marked in accordance with the ASME code for low-pressure steam boilers and shall be registered with the national board of boilers and pressure inspectors. 4. All necessary controls for safe and efficient operation in accordance with UL requirements. 5. Provide new blow-down piping and valves. 6. Provide gas piping from existing main gas supply to new boiler gas-train inlet with union. Piping shall be at least full size of gas train connection. Provide a reducer if required. 7. Provide new flue from new boiler to existing flue pipe. 8. Remove existing feed water tank and replace with new tank for low pressure steam. The existing feed water pumps, control panel, and piping will be reused. Make all required connections to new tank. Discard existing tank. 9. Provide piping from new feed water tank to existing condensate return line. Also provide piping from existing make up water line to the new feed water tank. 10. Provide piping from boiler water feed pumps to the new boiler. Modify feed water tank to provide service access. 11. Provide blow down pipe rom new boiler to existing blow down separator. Existing blow down separator is connected to the existing high pressure boiler. 12. Provide all required electrical work for the installation of the new boiler and the feed water system so that they can function properly. 13. Provide startup and adjustment for proper operation and demonstrate operation for state boiler inspection. 14. Provide all required drawings to obtain installation permits from the City of Phoenix. All permit fees shall be paid by the contractor. The contractor shall provide all required materials and labor to accomplish the task. Installation must completed before February 2006.
