- Under the authority of FAR 6, subpart 6.302, the Department Of Veterans Affairs medical Center Jamaica Plains Campus intends to award a sole source contract to the Boston University, to provide specialized research assistant in support of the Boston VA Medical Center's Innovative Visual Rehabilitation (CIVR). The CIVR is developing bioengineering therapies to improve the quality of life to visually impaired patients. The main goal is to develop a retinal prosthesis that will enhance vision. The assistant will label the sections for conventional histology, as well as immunity to chemical studies using antibodies against proteins of interest in human retinal degeneration. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or a request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the government. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantages to Government. Responses must be received no later than September 19, 2005.
