- The United States Department of Agriculture, ARS, BA is seeking to purchase a tub grinder with the following specs: 1000PTO, 9.5 x 14 8 ply tires, 1 1/2 inch screen, 4 inch screen. Tub Grinder must grind alfalfa and orchard grass hay to 1 1/2 inch in length to be used in a TMR Dairy Ration. Please include all assembly and freight charges in the price. Delivery address is 10300 Baltimore Ave, Bldg 177C, BARC-East, Beltsville, MD. Tub Grinder Questions and Answers Q1. Can you provide more specs for the tub grinder? A1. In regards to submitting a bid for a tub grinder, I need to know what type of packaging you hay is - round bales ? small square bales? big square bales? or loose hay? A2. In most cases we will be using a large square bale which measures 3 x 3 x 8. Q3. Does the grinder tilt? A3. We do not have a need for the grinder to tilt.
