- Description
- The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, South Atlantic Area, Athens, GA, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Applera Corporation, DBA Applied Biosystems Group, Foster City, CA, for one kit upgrade for an ABI 3730 Genetic Analyzer pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source. This upgrade meets the following critical specifications: capability to increase from 48 capillary array to 96 capillary array, mechanism to load 36 cm and 50 cm 96 capillary array inside the instrument, hardware compatibility of internal housing for the ABI 3730 Genetic Analyzer, compatible with current chemistries for the polmer, 10x runner buffer and dyes, uses the Foundation Data Collection Version 2.0, use of current modules for running samples and data analysis. Delivery is required within 14 days. FOB Destination to Miami, FL. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data identifying where the offered item meets or does not meet each of the Government?s functional and performance minimum specifications listed herein to this office within 7 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with Applied Biosystems without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is August 25, 2005.
