- The U.S. Geological Survey, Menlo Park, CA intends to make a sole source award to JEOL USA Inc, 11 Dearborn Road, P.O. Box 6043, Peabody, MA 01961-6043 for a service agreement for the JEOL 8900 Microprobe. Contractor unique capabilities: 1) The Contractor has the only factory trained and certified field service engineers, who are authorized to work on the JXA 8900. 2) The service agreement provides for two preventative maintenance service visits annually and once a year a complete system diagnostic. 3) JEOL provides factory expertise and support to assist with difficult repairs and is the only known supplier of OEM parts required. 4) The Government requires automatic system and script diagnostic upgrades. Period of Performance: Date of Award for 1 Year and up to 4 option Years. This notice is for informational purposes only. Simplified Acquisition procedures will be used with an estimated award date of 10/01/2005. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond within 10 days of this announcement. All responses must be in writing by facsimile to the Contracting Officer at (916) 278-9339 or email vfriesner@usgs.gov. A determination not to continue with this acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FY06 FUNDS.
