- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate a follow-on SOLE SOURCE procurement with Purified MicroEnvironments, A Div. of Germfree Laboratories, Inc. The contractor will provide al l labor materials and equipment necessary for the design, manufacturing and installation of a single sided class III Biological Safety Cabinet. Purified MicroEnvironments, professional engineering team is responsible for the manufacturing and installation three (3) BSC chambers provided a under separate contract. The additional scope described in this notice is being incorportated into the footprint of the exisiting project. Due their extensive on-site involvement and to ensure the compatibility as well as consistency of approach the current contractor is the only acceptable source to continue to serve as a partner with the Government for this requirement. Competitive bidding would result in significant, project delays, would require duplication of cost t o the government, and would not result in cost savings. This is a SOLE SOURCE procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes. However, statements of capability to fulfill this requirement received from other re sponsible businesses prior to close of business on 24 August 2005 will be evaluated. Offerors responding to this notice must provide a statement of capability to the Contract Specialist.
