Description
Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subparts 6.301 and 6.302, the U.S. Census Bureau intends to contract with the World Health Organization (WHO), Multi-Country Studies Division, Avenue Appia, Geneva, Switzerland 1207 for data sets for two surveys conducted by WHO. These data sets are for the Survey of Health, Aging, and Retirement in Europe (HARE) and the Survey of Global Aging (SAGE). As the sole source for the results of these surveys, WHO is the only source available for acquisition of the data. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Census Bureau?s needs. Detailed capabilities must be received at the U.S. Census Bureau by COB, September 1, 2005. They will be provided via email to Abe Kennedy (Contract Specialist) at albert.ernest.kennedy@census.gov. Mr. Kennedy may also be contacted at 301/763-4420. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received by COB September 1, 2005, a contract may be issued to the World Health Organization without further notice.
