Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Galveston Laboratory is in need of contractors that can provide the material, labor, equipment, and administration to install new 4? diameter seawater line from the main pump house to the Wet Laboratory and Sea Turtle Facility water storage tanks DESCRIPTION: The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits to drill into the City of Galveston sewer lines, as well as any other permits that may be required to complete the tasks described herein. The contractor shall provide the material, labor, equipment, and administration to perform the following tasks: 1) Excavate approximately 1,500 linear feet of 12?-24? deep ditch for new plumbing. 2) Install 4? diameter SCH 80 pipe and fittings capable of carrying at least 60 psi at 30 degrees C from Pump House to the Wet Laboratory and Sea Turtle Facility water storage tanks. (Per drawing) 3) Install a parallel secondary 4? diameter SCH 80 pipe and fittings capable of carrying at least 60 psi at 30 degrees C from Pump House to Sias Drive. (Per drawing) 4) Core drill into 2 City of Galveston storm sewers and make water tight after laying pipe. 5) Install 4? diameter SCH 80 pipe and fittings in storm drains to route pipe across Sias Drive. 6) Cover and level ditch after laying pipe. 7) Test both seawater lines to minimum of 60 psi for water tightness. The NAICS code for this action is 238990. This service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 36, Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts Procedures. The Central Region Acquisitions Division, requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
