- Dear valued produce supplier: The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) invites you to participate in a round table discussion regarding its changing business practices in the procurement of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (FF&V). DSCP currently supports the military installations, DeCA Commissaries, State USDA School Lunch Programs and Federal Native American Indian Programs via various methods throughout the continental United States. To streamline the procurement process and offer our customers highest quality produce at the best price, DSCP plans to change the way it procures its FF&V and would like industry?s input into the process. There will be three round table discussion held in each of the three regions (East, Mid and West). Areas of discussion will include EDI requirements, Value Added Services, Regionalization of Customers, Small Business Concerns, Market Research regarding Availability of Domestic Product, among other topics. Please join us in embarking on a new era in DSCP FF&V procurements. The first of the round table discussions will be held in Philadelphia for the Eastern Region ? see below information. The two additional meetings are outlined below: Eastern Region: Date: Thursday, August 18, 2005 Time: 9:00 AM Place: Embassy Suites, Philadelphia Airport Hotel 900 Bartram Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19153 Attendance: Please RSVP to Maryann Sharpe at maryanne.sharpe@dla.mil Hotel Reservations: A block of rooms has been set aside for attendance. Please call 800-Embassy and make your hotel reservation under ?DSCP? to get the $116.00 plus tax room rate. This rate is only good for the night of August 17th. Reservations must be made by August 10th to receive the reduced rate. Cancellation policy: 24 hours prior to arrival for full refund of deposit and you must obtain a cancellation number. No Show: In the event that a guest who has reserved a room does not cancel by 6:00 pm on the day prior to date of arrival, and does not arrive on the scheduled arrival date, the guestroom rate for one night stay will be applied to the individual's credit card. In addition, reservations for subsequent nights may be cancelled.
