Description
The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) is searching for sources that can provide the following: The Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) will require a robotic device for upper extremity rehabilitation in stroke patients. This device should be back-drivable with emergency stop and be designed for safe, stable, compliant operation in clinical setting and meet or exceed federal safety standards for clinical devices used in close physical contact with humans. It also should be interactive via software applications and hardware controls and dynamically adjustable as the subject’s performance changes. The device should be capable of multi-joint movements or limb segment movements and include interactive applications and a programmable interface for varying degrees of movement and difficulty. The device must be able to move, guide, or perturb subject movements of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist and be able to measure and record position, velocity, and forces applied during complex arm and wrist movement with multiple degrees of freedom. The manufacture must be able to install, validate, and perform acceptance testing and applications training on device. The manufacture must have at least a 1 year warranty that includes parts and labor. The proposed device must be FDA approved for use in humans or exempted from approval with supporting documentation. The device must have marketing approval be and registered with the FDA. This sources sought is also looking for companies that have the ability to provide a service agreement for the Robotic Device with 48hrs turn-around time and 24/7 support. This sources sought does not constitute an order of any kind nor does it guarantee that an order will be generated in the near future. A research study may be conducted by the CSP Clinical Research Coordinating Center with the information obtained from this sources sought.
