- Exotic plant management involves the use of machinery that is inherently hazardous, such as herbicides, chainsaws, herbicide application equipment, etc. in sensitive, natural areas with complex vegetation matrices. Crew supervisor must have at least 2 years experience in field techniques of mechanical and chemical treatment of exotic pest plants common to the eastern deciduous forest ecosystem. Must have a current DC applicators license (or reciprocity w/an approved state, current CPR card and ability to train applicators working under his/her license. Crew member must also be able to correctly identify exotic plants. A tentative date has been set for a mandatory preproposal conference at the Rock Creek Park Maintenance yard, 5000 Glover Road, NW, Washington, DC on Friday, August 26, 2005 @10:00 am. Proposals will be evaluated on the following the criteria in descending order of importance: (the evaluation criteria will be submitted with the solication by August 18 or before). The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Dept. of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) Website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. All proposals must be mailed or delivered to Rock Creek Park, 3545 Williamsburg Lane, NW, Washington, DC 20008 attn: Diane Austin by September 9,2005 by close of business. Propective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are required to register at the NBC site. The Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 2001-16 requires all contractors to be registered in the Central Registration database prior to any award. This solicitation has a 4 year option. Estimated magnitude of this project is below $55,000. NAICS code: 424690. Award will be made on a "Best Value" basis in accordance with the evaluation criteria which will be weighed according to their importance.
