Description

Design-Build Services for Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Replacement Project No. 672-753, Solicitation No. RFP 672-545-05. Due date: August 22, 2005 by COB 4:00 pm. at the VA Medical Center, Contracting Office, Tres Rios Building, Suite 600, 27 Gonzalez-Giusti, San Patricio, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 00968. The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting for the design-build services to include all professional architectural & engineering (A & E) design work in accordance with VA-HVAC Design Criteria Handbook, Latest VA Standards, ASHRAE, OSHA, EQB, NFPA, NEC, ADA latest requirements and Industry Standards and Federal Requirements and Regulation; specialized construction labor & supervision work; materials & equipment's provision; and certain other related architectural, mechanical, structural, electrical, and demolition work for the project titled _Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Replacement_. This project will include approximately 7,200 ft2 in new construction, adjacent to the existing Main Hospital Operating Rooms (B Area), and 3,500 ft2 in renovated area for a total construction area of 10,700 ft2. SICU facilities will include 9-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), a 4 bed Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) and a 4 bed Intermediate Surgical Care Unit (ISCU) that meets current codes and allows for modern ICU care in accordance with current clinical practices. The estimated cost range for the project described is $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. based on VAAR 836-204 Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects. NAICS code for this procurement is 236220 with size standard of $28.5 million. All work shall be completed within 425 calendar days after issuance of notice to proceed. This solicitation is set-aside to Small Business under the 8(a) Program. The solicitation packages are available at the San Juan, PR VAMC, Contracting Office located at the Tres Rios Building, Suite 600, 27 Gonzalez-Giusti, San Patricio, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 00968. Visits to the site shall be coordinated with the VAMC Project Manager, Eng. Pedro Calderin at (787) 641-7582, ext 10414 or 10183. A pre-proposal conference will be held on July 20, 2005, at 2:00 PM, local time, in Room C-34 Basement, VA Medical Center (Main Building), 10 Casia St, San Juan, PR. All offerors, consultants, subcontractors, manufacturers and suppliers are invited to attend. The contracting officer will not maintain an offerors mailing list for this solicitation. Offerors are advised that no contract will be awarded to any firm not registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to contract award and maintenance of current registration throughout the life of the contract is required. Offerors must register and complete the on line representations and certifications (ORCA) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR 52.204-8).
