- BIOREMEDIATION OF CHLORINATED ETHENES IN THE CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS AT WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB The solicitation number is 05-T-AFIT. This is Sole Source procurement, synopsis published for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. The proposed contract is for a study for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501 and 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The proposed source is Wright State University. The description is as follows: A detailed characterization of the fate of dissolved chlorinated ethenes in the groundwater flowing through the Wright-Patterson AFB constructed wetlands and a DNA based investigation of the wetland subsurface to identify the microbial community composition associated with treatment of groundwater contaminated by perchloroethylene. The government anticipates a sole source award to Wright State University because this is follow-on to a detailed analysis of various inorganic and organic analytes, which began in the winter of 2003. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the government will consider all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
