Description: The VA Veterans Integrated Network (VISN) 21 and 22 intend to enter into a an agreement with the Moores Cancer Center of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), School of Medicine ? an affiliate, for the delivery of a smoking cessation behavioral counseling intervention by the California?s Smokers? Helpline. This is a collaborative research project between VISN 21 and VISN 22 Research Staff, and UCSD for Smoking Cessation. The study calls for the VA to work with the State of California?s Quitline for smoking cessation operated by UCSD School of Medicine. The anticipated contract term is for a one-year period; funded through Public Law 105-65, 111STAT1344.
