- USDA, Forest Service, Ironton Ranger District, Wayne national Forest has a requirement for a general contractor to provide labor, services, material and equipment necessary to repair a section of Forest Development Road (FDR) 1955 - Vesuvius Road. FDR 1955 was damaged by a mass movement of soil due to over saturated soil conditions in September of 2004. The work will include the procurement of all needed materials such as earthwork geotextiles, mechanical retaining wall components, culvert pipe, aggregates, asphalt cement, and large structural fill rock to reconstruct the road back to it?s original condition. Work will include excavation, minor clearing, pipe placement and structural back fill, aggregate base and asphalt concrete placement as to the specifications and drawings. Project location: From Ironton take State Route 93 North for approximately 5 miles to LAW CR 21. Turn right on CR 21 and travel East for 1 mile to the junction of FDR 1955. Then turn left and travel for approximately 0.6 miles until you arrive at the damage site. All work is to be done in accordance with the plans, specifications. Estimated construction cost is between $25,000 and 100,000. All work is to comply with local, Federal and State codes and is subject to Davis Bacon wage rates. Current wage determination is: OH20030002 dated 08/05/2005. The solicitation will be issued seeking full and open competition. The requirement will be awarded as a fixed price contract, a single award is anticipated. Solicitation number: AG-55N9-S-05-0003. NAICS: 237310, Size Standard: $28.5M. Performance Period: 150 days after award and issuance of the Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled to be held at the job site at 10 am (local) on September 6th, 2005
