- The US Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to negotiate solely with University of Arizona, Division of Plant Pathology and Microbiology, The Department of Plant Sciences, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Forbes Building 204, Tucson AZ 85721-0036 under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, to evaluate information and provide an analytical report on environmental niches and distribution, and the effects of physical parameters including, temperature, pH, ultraviolet sensitivity, sensitivity to DECON, and media requirements for growth and survival of Coccidioides spores in the soil, liquids, or material surfaces. No other laboratory has the technology or capabilititie s to complete the project. This is a sole source procurement. The contemplated award will fall under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold and is a one-time requirement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with The University of Arizona. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 541990 and the size standard is $ 6.0 million in average annual receipts over the last three years. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or sub mit proposals. Responses to this notice must be received not later than 12:00 Noon, Eastern Standard Time, August 12,2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers.
