Description
The Universal Armament Interface (UAI) Government team is seeking comments/inputs from Industry on the UAI Platform-to-Store Interface Control Document (PSICD) that is currently being developed by the UAI Consortium. The UAI PSICD documents a generic interface between Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs) and platforms. The PSICD currently includes the functionality requirements for existing legacy and future PGM weapons. The intent is to also look towards the future (10 years ahead) and to capture, to the best of our ability, the functionality requirements for PGM weapons that are currently being planned or those that we can reasonably envision. The Air Force is specifically seeking inputs on functionality requirements for moving targets, seekers, data links (initialization, on aircraft and release) and geo-specificity (exclusion zones) but welcomes input on other requirements that Industry believes may not be sufficiently addressed in the PSICD. Industry input is crucial to ensure the final PSICD captures the future functionality requirements that Industry believes is necessary for their future PGM weapon concepts. As directed by ACC/DR and AAC/CC, the UAI PSICD will be the interface for future PGM weapons, and future PGM weapon designs must comply with the ICD. This is the opportunity to ensure that the PSICD is robust enough to accommodate future PGM weapon functionality for at least the next 10 years. The PSICD will be implemented on Air Force platforms and weapons beginning with F-15E, Suite 6, the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) MK-82 and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) Industry representatives willing to provide comments/inputs to the UAI PSICD should contact Audrea Feist, Deputy UAI lead, at (850) 883-3080 or audrea.feist@eglin.af.mil. A copy of the UAI PSICD will be provided to the representatives for their review. On Thursday, 18 August 2005, the UAI government team will host a meeting at Eglin AFB in Bldg 349, Room 301, beginning at 8:00. A general session will be held from 8:00 ? 9:30 followed by 1 hour individual sessions for interested companies. Interested companies may contact Ms. Feist to schedule individual sessions. For those companies not interested in attending the meeting on the 18th, comments may be emailed to Ms. Feist at the address above or mailed to the following address: AAC/XRS, 207 West D Avenue, Suite 301, Eglin AFB FL 32542 . For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact one of the following: Audrea Feist at the phone number above, Mike Bowen at (850) 883-0274, or Dennis Hancock at (850) 883-3226.
