Description
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to Texas A&M University to conduct a study on the Effects of Dynamic Turbulence on Erosion Rates in Cohesive Soils. The study is to evaluate potential enhancements to the Erosion Function Apparatus (EFA) developed by Texas A&M as part of an NCHRP project for estimating bridge scour in cohesive soils. Texas A&M is the only organization that can provide the research version for the EFA for additional testing, in addition to the expertise to oversee the tests and the resources to conduct the study. The EFA was developed by Texas A&M therefore they are the only source who can provide the services this is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is August 22, 2005.
