- Description
- The Department of Commerce/NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the New England Aquarium for follow on services to administer a consortium for fisheries and wildlife conflict resolution. The contractor shall facilitate the conduct of research on ways to reduce the risk of serious injury or mortality of marine mammals and sea turtles caused by entanglement in fishing gear. Consortium projects shall focus on a variety of endangerd and threatened marine species, including right whales, bottlenose dolphins, and loggerhad sea turtles. This proposed action is based on congressional appropriation language to earmark funding to the New England Aquarium for the maintenance of the Consortium. The statutory authority is 41 U.S.C. (c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The applicable NAICS code is 924120. No award shall be made from any response to this announcement. This is not a request for proposals.
