- Description
- The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, South Atlantic Area intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Applied Biosystems, for 1 Big Dye v 3.1 for DNA sequencing. This Dye terminator sequencing chemistry must be able to generate long sequencing reads of greater than 1,000 bp consistently. It must be able to run on an Applied Biosystems 3730XL DNA analyzer on a POP-7 matrix. It also has to consistently resolve high DNA compression areas and read through strong stretch of DNA repeats. It must be able to generate good quality sequencing data for plasmid DNA and PCR products. The dye termination must be stable for post PCR reaction clean-up to include isopropanol and ethanol precipitation or passed through reaction clean-up columns. Delivery is required within 14 days. FOB Destination to Ft. Pierce, FL. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data identifying where the offered item meets or does not meet each of the Government?s functional and performance minimum specifications listed herein to this office within 7 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with Applied Biosystems without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is August 15, 2005.
