Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide responses to questions received. All other terms and conditions remains unchanged. 1. Common Criteria is currently version 2.1 and the draft of version 3 is released and due for acceptance July 2006. Does the Government mean the 128K dual interface smart card is to be certified to Common Criteria, version 2.1? Answer: This question does not refer to Common Criteria, but to Global Platform. For more information on Global Platform, visit www.globalplatform.org. 2. Within the Request for Information (RFI), Question number one "How soon could a 128K dual interface Smart Card that complies with technical requirements of FIPS-201 and SP 800-73 be developed, tested, manufactured and made available to government acquisition officers?", does the term "dual interface" refer to 'contact' and 'contactless'? If so, are you expecting responses to address and satisfy any specific interface specification(s)? Answer: Yes, and yes. 3. Is this a new requirement, or is there a current contract in place for the services? Answer: First, this is not a requirement; it is a Request for Information to determine the current state of industry and its readiness to meet a perceived emerging government requirement. There is a current contract in place for smart cards. It allows for technology refresh. Therefore, if the responses to the RFI indicate the availability of products that meet the Government?s needs a formal process for determining suitability and further decisions on migrating to the larger capacity cards will be made. 4. If there is a current contract, please provide the following information; contractor address, contract number, contract type, award and expiration date, and value. Answer: It is the Smart Access ID Card GWAC. Any other information can be obtained through the Freedom of Information Act process (FOIA).
